heartwarming story. Still, the bus driver is a hero and a good, kind woman and we can't let that fact get lost on the old man's ingratitude. I hope she gets some positive recognition for this. The world needs more people like her.

I think she did what she did because she's a decent human being who saw another human being in trouble.

That's all that's required.

That old man might be in shock, he might be disabled, or possibly even ashamed that he can no longer take care of himself.

I think a little compassion here might be appropriate.

They said black people are stealing buses. Throwing rocks at old white people and then taking them prisoner inside the bus. This is obviously proof. We better send in the national guard now......

Once she saw someone possibly in trouble she had the same moral duty we all have to not just drive on by. Being a municipal employee without a line in her procedure manual covering this makes no difference.
