Six Top Officials Have Quit Trumps White House In The Last 48 Hours

Yesterday, two high ranking officials within the Justice Department resigned: the FBIs public affairs assistant director Mike Kortan and the DOJs counterintelligence and export control chief David Laufman.
Friday evening, the New York Times reported that Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand, the number two official in the Russia investigation, was resigning along with her assistant. That news was followed almost immediately by reports that White House deputy chief of staff John Carroll also resigned after Politico reported Thursday that chief of staff John Kelly was dissatisfied with his performance.
A few hours after Carrolls departure, The Washington Post reported that White House speechwriter David Sorensen had also left the administration after his ex-wife accused him of domestic abuse, making him the second Trump staffer accused of violence against women this week.
Their resignation came 24 hours after White House staff secretary Rob Porter resigned amid uncovered allegations of domestic abuse have dominated headlines for nearly three days, but on Friday, two officials one also in the White House, the other in the Justice Department roiled Washington as well.
And more resignations could be around the corner. ABC News also reported Friday that John Kelly told President Donald Trump he was willing to resign amid his role in the Porter scandal.

(26,257 posts)Look at tRUMP and the ilk he worked w/ over the years, plus all of the lawsuits he's been in. He's a user, plain and simple, and spits people out like trash, regardless or not if they are actually good at the job they are supposed to be doing. Quite a few of the persons tRUMP has nominated have been the kind that all of us say 'what the blank"? No way these guys / gals are even remotely qualified.

So, the doctor is alone on the bridge, and has to run it all herself.
I've been picturing this since the night of the election: He won't leave the oval office, but no one will be able to stay there with him, and he'll be unable to run the government single-handed. The little orange fool will stomp around barking orders, but there won't be anyone responding.
His "deep state" theories might actually come true, if an alternate white house sets up shop somewhere and keeps things going....

In this episode, after reminiscing with an old friend about losing people close to them, Dr. Beverly Crusher (Gates McFadden) begins to notice Enterprise personnel vanishing, but no one else she talks to remembers them ever being there.
