There is a place down at the bottom of any post you are reading that says "buy hearts" or something like that. It then takes you to a screen that allows you to become a star member of DU. You can give any amount you want...each heart costs one dollar. Buy as many as you want for yourself and it is fun to go around and give other members a heart. This is an annual fundraiser for the site. Welcome btw.
