https://www.politico.com/story/2018/02/13/kelly-porters-scandal-white-house-407242And in December, he dismissed the former director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison, Omarosa Manigault, who had been using the White House car service known as CARPET as an office pick-up and drop-off service, something strictly forbidden by the federal government, according to three administration officials.
After Kelly dismissed her, Manigault tried to storm the White House residence to appeal to Trump, according to one of the officials, accidentally tripping an electronic Secret Service wire that monitors entry and egress from the residence.
The White House did not respond to a request for comment about Manigaults departure.
EDIT:
The White House car service is responsible for transporting the President and his family.

(114,697 posts)Anyone able to explain that? I'm not sure what they are saying there... just that Omarosa wasn't designated to use the service-- or was she using it for others? What exactly is the WH car service supposed to be for?

(30,481 posts)They were just formed in 2016. It was started by a number of higher-ups at Politico. They seem to be breaking stories and really getting on the inside. I only mention this as the article mentions an Axios reporter being one of the four brought into a meeting with Sanders and Porter.
the New York Times Maggie Haberman, the Washington Posts Josh Dawsey, Axios Jonathan Swan, and the Wall Street Journals Michael Bender.
Pretty big names they are rubbing shoulders with.
I'm not completely familiar with the outlet but have read a number of solid articles from them.
Good read that gives a generic outline of the Kelly/Porter relationship. Thanks for sharing.
