(9,298 posts)Wait till the summer. I've seen enough of this shit from the last go around. I guess someone needs clicks, not doing it. Besides, did they ask Russia what the spread is?

(27,640 posts)...we should likewise have refrained from touting Donnie's miserable favorability ratings or our generic ballot lead all last year, as they were equally meaningless.
Live by the polls, die by the polls.

(76,706 posts)Trump's approval rating was above 40 for 15 minutes in 3 out of 9 polls. And, 6 or 7 points is still huge, even if not the "dreaded" double digits. (And it's so far from election day, the double digit predictions were dubious.
The Hill needs to take a pill, and you should not post obviously distorted information here.

(26,507 posts)the Repugs steal the Nov 2018 election it won't look suspicious.
Remember, last week Tillerson and now yesterday the IC community panel said Russia will interfere with this election. Both of these give cover to the Repugs in the individual states to do anything possible to win for the Repugs. Then when they do win - they can point to two things - it wasn't us - it was the Russians and the polls were pretty even and we gained momentum going into the Nov election.
The Repugs will go all out to keep their power base. I know we're all hoping for a Blue Wave - even a Blue Tsunami. But watch for massive cheating to go on in this Nov election. The Repugs will be bringing out their surfboards.

(76,706 posts). . .excluding this article and a couple of bounce polls, there is no evidence that the tide is shifting.
That's why i don't think this post should stay in GD.

(26,507 posts)exists. We can't bury our heads in the sand and not take this possibility seriously.
We need to be sure we mobilize our people to GOTV in droves like we never done before.
The more we mobilize our troops to GOTV the harder it is for either the Russians to influence this election or the Repugs to steal it.
This GOTV message needs to be loud and clear and it needs to start now and up to Nov. It needs to be shouted by all our Dems in both the House and Senate and all our Dems in each and every State. It also needs to be taken up by each and every one of us common folk Dems and we all need to urge our friends, family and colleagues - and our Repug neighbors, friends and colleagues - of the importance of this Nov election and what it means to our Democracy going forward.

(71,542 posts)Trumps popularity as well as Bush II's...opine that a 'centrist (the horror) will win the nomination (more division). It is pretty clear what is happening here. How about a post that inspires people to fight hard to win in 18 and 20.

(24,958 posts)Trump is an ongoing flaming dumpster fire that is only getting worse, Congressional Republicans haven't accomplished much other than massive(ly) unpopular 1.5T tax cut that is geared towards the wealthy and are still pushing unpopular policies, Democrats are cleaning up in special elections in previously hardcore Trump/GOP bastions, and lots of GOP Congressmen and Senators are retiring after this year. Doesn't seem like a recipe for success in 2018 midterms to me.

(6,324 posts)Because a whole, whole lot of those votes are in deeply red gerrymandered districts.
Those depended districts will skew the national average but any upticks in them are meaningless to the overall outcome.
Polls only in districts that are in play are what matter. As recent special election results have shown that tells another tale.
Demsrule86
(71,542 posts)even posting this? We are going to trounce all Republicans in the coming elections. I remember your posts about how Bush II's approval ratings are up as well as Trumps...hmm.
