I buried my foster mother today

I had met her and became the foster child of her and her husband very soon after we came to the United States at the age of 14. I lived with them the rest of my childhood and came "home" during my 5 years of college. Been a part of their lives and them a part of mine.

While sorrowful, as I sat in that sanctuary today, I couldn't help but be so blest. Not many children, specially teen age boys get the chance have loving kind parents a second time around. It's hard to go through the death of a parent four times instead of two, but there is also blessing in the fact that I got the grace and wisdom of two loving families in my life.

I want to give a shout out to all foster parents...thank you for giving me and others a chance at a having a family once again!

The reality is, as you know, not a very kind one to many. I thank you for your uplifting story.

You seem very self aware and compassionate.... do them and yourself proud....

.... tread softly but leave meaningful, purposeful, and constructive footprints where ever you decide to wander on your life's path and various journeys.

You will have returned many times over the kind favors done for you.

After reading your post a few days ago my sister and I were remembering our parents, and how very good they were. We never had as much as some families in our neighborhood, but we were always well fed and had a comfortable home. We always knew we were loved by them.

May your mothers, both of them, rest in peace.

I'm so sorry for your loss, and I'm glad your grief is tempered with the knowledge that you were deeply loved.
