Does anyone know, is turning off ringers on phones part of the instructions?
It is shocking to think about those kids in the closet trying to hide and a phone rings.

(34,062 posts)At least the version I've done twice (ALICE) is more about encouraging you to be aware and think ahead, think of options, than specific rules to follow.

(554 posts)I am a volunteer instructor, and the phones are a thing we usually leave off the list in school environments, specifically because almost every school requires them to be silenced already.
But in mall, and other situations, we do recommend it, as one of the "If you have time" steps.
It is definitely a good idea.
