What's the purpose of a multi-trillion dollar military when we can be gunned down

by our fellow Americans on a frequent basis. If a foreign power or any other "foreign" group were mass killing Americans, we would mobilize troops, spend whatever amount, strip constitutional protections, go on red alert every day, you name it. Somehow, because its Americans, it almost our patriotic duty to do absolutely nothing, except for offering thoughts and prayers.

So, what is it that our military is protecting us from exactly? North Koreans? Really?

It's about the Military Industrial Complex!

The enemy is the redumbliCON boogieman.

The real enemy is on the internet and in our voting booth.

We spend more than the others combined, we have 800 foreign military bases. I think Russia or China has one or two foreign military bases. We need to outnumber them 400 to one to be profitable, I mean safe.

And every politician who voted for it or approved of it in any way
should have their name printed on it every hundred feet or so.

But it comes down to the dollars. If we are going into debt as we always do with the military budget, let's go into debt for things that would be more worthwhile. Better education, jobs programs for the young folks who aren't able to find much to do outside of retail or fast food and feel disillusioned, better mental health centers and health centers in general. People need REAL care, not a bunch of weapons and a diet of fearing others(selling off the land is another thing that is not good for America, but that's another subject).

We spend gobs of money on a military and it's like no one is really paying attention to what it is protecting anymore.

It's not foreign armies that are killing us. It's the guns, lack of healthcare, poor education, etc.
