I say that because we all know that the villain we face in the present is often the one we rate most villainous, even if that is not actually true.
So, with that in mind, I ask: who do you think is worse, Little Bush/Cheney or Mr. Orange?
I say Little Bush/Cheney because to this day no one knows who was really in charge back then. So let's just treat them as one entity.

This time, we may not.

(4,533 posts)The Iraq war not only caused many war deaths, the damaged health care system will have deadly consequences for decades. Turkey was perhaps our best ally, always helping us. Turks just loved Americans, treated them like movie stars when they (me too) visited. Now we are divided. We will be paying medical costs for our wounded for decades.
And WMDs? We classified 25 year old artillery shells, useless, as weapons of mass destruction to scam us into thinking they were a threat. And our govt knew the defectors talking to Judith Miller were liars. Our CIA based on defector claims gave UN inspectors sites to inspect, to test the claims. In about 100 such inspections there was never a single confirmation. We knew they were lying. The bio lab underneath Saddam Hussein hospital? It did not exist, just dirt under the hospital. Condi Rice is a super smart cookie who always knew what reporters would ask and she always was ready, 3 steps ahead of them. As Clinton once said in a different context she could talk a dog off a meat truck.
And just keeping Clinton taxes would have paid off the entire national debt.
Invading not for defense is a war crime. So far Trump not as bad.

(57,832 posts)and turn our democracy into a dictatorship. Bush/Cheney killed a lot of people and cost us tons of money, but they didn't have the same goal as the F**king Moron.

(19,429 posts)Congress won't agree to much. The military is under professional leadership. The other executive branches are generally ineffective.
Trump's main achievements are appointment of judges and repeal of regulations.

(3,568 posts)Bush was bad. No doubt but all during his term I never really feared that out institutions and freedoms were in danger. They were (they said) fighting the Terrorists to protect our freedoms, to bring Democracy to Iraq etc. It may have been lip service but it meant they had to at least respect our institutions.
Trump has no respect for any of our Institutions or Traditions. He only cares about himself and his money. With the Republicans who are following him lockstep and showing themselves to be authoritarians our Institutions and Traditions are under real threat.
As to killing people--I think he will happily hit the nuke button as soon as he thinks he can.
Just for these reasons alone Trump is the worst.

Trump & Bush are just a symptoms of a disenfranchised segment of the population, who has been told to blame the liberals, democrats, & minorities, for their lower lot in life. Too bad the dems never took hate radio seriously. Now we have its evil spawn, Fox & Breitbart, spewing bullshit, too.
