Isn't Our Government Supposed to Protect Us?

I thought the FBI and CIA and the military would keep us safe from attack against the U.S. from hostile foreign governments.

But they have not. And they are not right now protecting us either.

The attacks on our democracy our current and ongoing.

Can someone explain to me why our government is not keeping us safe from the war being waged against us?

1. They haven't done a good job at keeping the air and water safe either.

Business and economy first.

2. Because they don't care (the GOP that is).

They care about personal, financial agendas and use partisanship to get more money for themselves whether it is from the NRA, Russia, the Religious Right or the Mercers and Kochs. That are continuing to sell our country's safety and not follow the rules set up by our own govt in the past. They are not patriots, they are traitors for money. They don't care about what their constituents want (like DACA, affordable health care, higher wages, protection from foreign enemies, gun control, etc.). We can no longer expect them to put country first, and sometimes even party first. MONEY IS FIRST to them.
