CNN Opinion........Why does Melania Stay with Trump?

https://www.cnn.com/2018/02/17/opinions/why-does-melania-stay-drexler/index.html

I read this article and surmised that she likes the lifestyle she has become accustomed to living, despite the dispicable cad Trump is. Melania is nothing more than a trophy to look at, but never touch. She has been bought. She had to know that he would never have been faithful to her or even his mistresses after she became his wife.

So he said okay, as long as I don’t have to have anything to do with it.

He doesn’t spend time with this boy, they don’t golf together or go to the movies or pal around. He is not an object of his affection.

I think she might have once had an infatuation for him--sufficient for her to justify to herself marrying such a truly awful person, but as has been reported, they haven't shared a bed for a very long time. I suspect the pre-nup might have been "fattened" a tad to entice her to go to DC and play at first lady, but ultimately I'm sure she just feels trapped. Given her parent's questionable legal status, I'd say she is right to feel that way.

Grounds for Denaturalization

Falsification or Concealment of Relevant Facts: You must be absolutely truthful when filling out paperwork and answering interview questions related to the naturalization application process. Even if the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS) fails to recognize any lies or ommissions at first, the agency may file a denaturalization action against you after citizenship has been granted. Examples include failure to disclose criminal activities or lying about one's real name or identity.

Refusal to Testify Before Congress: You may not refuse to testify before a U.S. congressional committee whose job it is to investigate your alleged involvement in subversive acts, such as those intended to harm U.S. officials or overthrow the U.S. government. This requirement to testify in order to maintain citizenship status expires after 10 years.

Membership in Subversive Groups: Your citizenship may be revoked if the U.S. government can prove that you joined a subversive organization within five years of becoming a naturalized citizen. Membership in such organizations is considered a violation of the oath of U.S. allegiance. Examples include the Nazi Party and Al Qaeda.

Dishonorable Military Discharge: Since you may become a naturalized U.S. citizen by virtue of serving in the U.S. military, your citizenship may be revoked if you are dishonorably discharged before serving five years. Reasons for dishonorable discharge, which must follow a general court-martial, include desertion and sexual assault.

are committed by the naturalized citizen. Unless Melania commits mass murder in a school, deportation is highly improbable. I am sure there are many bank robber naturalized citizens living here, in or out of jail.

Melania has not done a thing to introduce herself to the Nation, promote a cause she is passionate about, go on shows for interviews, or get to know the American people. We see her as an ornament to a brutish man getting in and out of cars, AF1, with the ocassional world leader. The seems to be a lack of interest on her part.

Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush, and Michelle Obama were as visible as they could be and we admired them for their work and commitment to the country.

Given the author purports to write a book on the “failings of feminism”

Personally I don’t care, it’s not my business—she’s a grown ass adult married to a racist, sexist horror—and has been, Trump has been very much in the public eye with his bigotries. No information about him is surprising or new.

Like the Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal stories, this might best be considered a distraction from the real concerns we should have about the damage he and his enablers are doing to our country. And it might not help convince many of his supporters that he's a scum-bucket

...with a security detail, at taxpayers' expense. where she is "pampered in the spa."

Sweet deal, right? It's something that actually happened a month or so ago. She was supposed to travel with Trump, she went to Mar-a-Lago alone instead.

I don't see that she's particularly gifted in any way, or has a "cause" to devote her time to (Anti-CyberBullying campaign, anyone?).

I think the only thing that kept her from staying in Trump Tower with her son was "bad optics"...the daily cost to provide security for her there, the cost to fly her back and forth to Washington when she "had" to be there.

So now she's in the White House, and reportedly she and Trump sleep in separate rooms.

Regarding your comment "She had to know that he would never have been faithful to her or even his mistresses after she became his wife," yeah...but my guess is that when Trump voiced "presidential aspirations" in the past, she hedged her bets and never thought that he'd go through with it (and if he did, she probably thought he wouldn't win).

She rolled the dice and lost. Not financially, of course, which may be all that matters to her. I, personally, would be completely nuts if the daily headlines were about my girlfriend throwing down with pornstars and models. I think the only time she likes the spotlight if she's "looking fabulous," and she never looks that way to me. She seems to be empty, shallow, and she helped carry Trump's "birther" flag for him, so I have no sympathy or empathy for what she's going through.

There's gotta be a pre-nup. My guess is that when Trump is out of office, she'll cash in her chips and that'll be the end of it.

Is that the Trump marriage or lack of it, is being played out. The past is being brought forth and is another embarrassment to this country.

I am reminded of the outrage from Conservative pundits maligning the Obamas for all their touchy Feely
moments, Barack serenading Michelle with some AL Greene, holding hands, even the fist bump thing between them. A couple who knew what being human beings in love with one another was all about.

We do not have that with the Trumps.

His Presidential ambitions cramped what she logically thought would happen.

She is wife #3. What does Trump do when the wives get too "old?" He tosses them aside for a younger version.

I think she assumed that she'd bide her time, he'd cheat, get tired of her and they would divorce -- after which, she'd get a nice settlement and be able to live the relatively same life she had become accustomed to.

It's painfully obvious that this life was not in her plans and she's miserable.
