(18,770 posts)...and I thought the same thing, he would be 78 this year. Then I remembered Yoko was approx 7 yrs older, making her 85 this year. I looked up her birthday on Wikipedia and discovered her birthday was TODAY!

(7,715 posts)Take a look at video of John in 1966/1967 and contrast that with post-summer of 1968 video of John, which is when his relationship with Yoko took off. He is a TOTALLY different person, full of life and purpose, after his relationship with Yoko began. Before, he seemed moribund and lifeless.
At least to me, it is very visible that Yoko had huge positive effect on John. She didn't break up the Beatles; they broke themselves up, since there was basically nothing more that they could do that they hadn't already done. What Yoko did was help John find and release his revolutionary spirit, both in song and action.
And again to anyone who wants to bash Yoko, she was a well-respected artist from the Fluxus movement, well before she hooked up with John. She actually did have her own life before him.
I am glad you picked a song from Double Fantasy, which is a beautiful album. Yoko wrote some of the songs on that album.
Happy Birthday, Dear Yoko!
