Hillary's Comments About Trump's Kids

I was just thinking of Hillary's comments about Trump's kids during the debate, and how she said Trump did a good job raising them because they have turned into fine adults. I remember thinking to myself back then that, that is a true statement. But, now that Trump has been President for the past year, and we know more about this family, we now know that the Donald and Ivana have done a horrible job raising their kids...those kids are good for nothing grifters and scoundrels that cheat and lie and probably would do most anything else all to make a buck! They are not fine adults.....they are incorrigible adults!!

1. By that point I had already saw the photos of

them and their "trophy hunts" and had read about Ivanka stealing other designers ideas for her factory, so saying they were "good people" is a bit of a stretch (for me at least!).

I think she was just trying to find anything nice to say and that is as close as she could get!

2. first, i don't think he did much of the "raising";

second, i think it's entirely possible that they were raised decently enough, but he then corrupted them as adults once they were useful to him in his business.


finally, it very likely that hillary was just being diplomatic and trying to look like a reasonable person who doesn't just hate on all things trumpy.

I never knew that side of his kids back then. I always knew Donald Trump was a horrible person, but thought the kids were good.

4. I thought it was more of a backhanded compliment

Since it was mostly Ivana and some nannies that raised the kids. Trump himself would show up on occasion if his golf game was rained out or whatnot

Not bought off our attorney general (NYC) with campaign contribution, they'd be (Ivanka and Don Jr.) sitting in prison now. Around 2014 (?) most in the DA's office wanted to indict them for fraud, but the AG went against his prosecuters.

8. I think at one point Chelsea was friends with Ivanka

Not sure if the friendship was genuine or they were just in the same social circles and acquaintances.

I just hope that Tiffany and Barron turn out to be decent human beings.

10. It was the type of answer that a candidate gives to such a question -- essentially what is good

about Trump. It is gracious, while giving the opponent no credit on anything related to being President. In most cases, the opponent may never have really met the kids and the opponent gains nothing from a comment like this.

Clinton's daughter and Ivanka were supposedly good friends per media accounts. Try for 20 seconds to think of any other praise that she could have given. I can't think of any that would have been more innocuous -- and consider that even a pause of that length would look bad.
