(1,837 posts)Would get such a huge bounce in the polls. I thought itd be similar to the ACA passage in 2010 and do nothing on the generic ballot. The fact that it was basically a political convention sized bounce that is only now ebbing and being reversed is shocking to me! Dont even think WJC got such a large bounce for his 1993 budget. This tax cut legislation probably moved the polls more than any piece of legislation in history, even though it was fortunately just a fleeting bounce. Shocking! Bushs 2001 tax cut didnt even move the polls that much. Glad that the GOP bounce horror show is over with, at last! Never would have predicted itd be the mother of all poll bounces though. At least what goes up must come down, as a matter of gravity!😎

(3,335 posts)opinion of the tax cut. They might feel different once they get their tax bill for 2018, but in the mean time they've been snookered. My guess is that when time rolls around for filing their 2018 returns, they won't get get the refunds that many anticipate or they will owe more than they expected but it will be too late by than. In the meantime, we can't get complacent and we won't be able to convince people who are seeing something that we know doesn't exist with their own eyes.
By this time next year, the bonus checks will have been long spent, if they ever existed, and there won't be another in its place. Their stagnant wages will still be stagnant, assuming that they still have their job because a lot of the companies that Trump bragged were giving bonuses laid off employees after the tax cut went into affect.
