when we get all these crazy guns banned, i'd like to see one more thing if possible

along with all the metal detectors in place, and everything else, I'd like to see each floor of the school have a plan (volunteers only) if possible that full bullet proof suits stored. In the case where someone gets a gun illegally and attacks a school. And training ONLY for the volunteers. There would be a special team and only they would know where suits are stored? Just my thoughts here. I'm not saying this is mandatory at all because teachers should be teachers and that's all! But by there choice they could have access to the suits.

When there is the chaos of a shooter, teachers have to lock their doors, not run down the hall to the room where these bullet proof suits are stored.

And since school funding is already tight, where is the money for these expensive suits going to come from? There will need to be one for every adult, right?

come from donations strictly for that purpose (suits) If school has 3 floors then 3 volunteers (one on each floor). You know if they had a plan This could work i feel if done right. and ONLY if they (volunteers) choose to. BUT ALL GUNS BANNED FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So in mere moments, teachers must herd their students back into classrooms, get them in a relatively safe space, go to the closet or whatever, unlock it, get 30+ kevlar vests, pass them around, help students don vests. All in what could be seconds.

Sure, that'll work.

and I do give great consideration to the mental illness aspect that is very common in these but ignoring the guns roles is being willfully blind and obtuse like Trump was. I think we can really take on both, but severaly restricting access, banning certain types, and modifications, and really making people criminally responsible for selling to offenders and even not securing your guns properly so that if someone, a child for example takes an unsecured gun from anyone, parent, what have they should be facing serious jail time, and massive civil penalties. There is no denying the "assault" types and just the allure they are given in video games romanticizes them as tools of badassery, I mean I have a soon to be 4 year old. If this shit doesn't get better, I could easily see homeschooling if it was an option. I cannot imagine the pain of losing your child like that and even the pain of the survivors, children who wil be scarred for life, bottom line, hold people accountable and get rid of the killing machines.

something has to change. Everything we on this site have talked about as far as gun sense goes i really wish we could accomplish. It will be a challenge, but for some reason i feel better today than i've ever felt before! take care there!
