The .223 round is smaller, and has less powder than the 30-30 cartridge.

At 100 yards the .223 round only delivers about 76% of the energy of the 30-30 round.

There is no way a .223 round will "virtually vaporize" a 280 pound hog, and would do way less damage than the 30-30 round.

Good fiction though.

but the op screams BS. We are to believe that this guy was fine hunting and field dressing his wild game, but when he saw a pig after shooting it with an AR15 was so traumatized that he started doing yoga to cope and started eating tofu? really? He might as well say he has started wearing birkenstocks and driving a Prius.

The op is mocking us.

Newton's Third Law

The size of the forces on the first object equals the size of the force on the second object. The direction of the force on the first object is opposite to the direction of the force on the second object. Forces always come in pairs - equal and opposite action-reaction force pairs.

The force required to propel a 55gr bullet to such a velocity that it had the energy to vaporize a 280 lb. wild boar that was over 90 yards away would have done you in.

But FYI. We liberals hunt. We own guns and know how to use them. Not all of us and we do disagree vigorously on occasion.

And lots of have shot pigs.

Do you homework before you try this again, comrade.

no way. It is capable of firing a lot of rounds but it is just an common ordinary small caliber cartridge not any super powerful round.
I am totally against civilians having them but not because they are super powerful, it's massive amount of rounds they can fire. Hey
if they had a 5 round fixed magazine I wouldn't have any objection to them. If they had a 5round fixed magazine few people would want one.

You are probably okay with the popular single shot break action rifles that fire the .223 Remington.

Where do all the "recs" come from on this thing?

Yesterday, I noticed water getting up over the road to my house. This is an inconvenience for the U.S. mail carrier, so I took my trusty .22 revolver, aimed and fired 1 shot. Instantly, a crater appeared on the uphill side of the road large enough to hold all the excess water. I was happy until 3 school buses and a 777 full of nuns and puppies disappeared into the murky water forever.

The end.

Get back under your bridge.

Edit:
Full ignore.

And this round is nothing compared to 7.62, 30-06 etc.

Which are heavier, larger caliber, and much more energy.

... will show that an AR15 round will not vaporize a pig. Not a 280 pound pig, and not 28 pound pig.

Google AR15 wild pigs and you'll see.
Fair warning: Don't click if dead pigs or AR15s offend you.

You'd have to put at least 87 rounds into the fucking thing to do that kind of damage.
One round? A possum or a dag maybe, but no way a hawg.

I guess I don't get how it's funny. I mean I understand the humor in the ridiculousness of it. But some idiot that already thinks an AR will destroy an animal and is useless for hunting will read that and reaffirm what they believe is true. Then continue spreading the lie. I guess I don't find that very funny...

They’re gonna do that anyway. Might as well give them a BS story that make them sound like morons when they repeat it.

i let it stand because it was misclassified as "right wing smears or talking points". i read it from that standpoint and didn't see a problem with it despite wondering how a bullet made a pig explode. now that i've read the whole thread i wish whoever reported had done so as spam or something like that since i realize now that while it is not a "right wing talking point" it IS bullshit.

Can I change my vote? LOL

The funny thing is there are more then enough ways to criticize guns without needing to just totally make shit up, so i don't understand the point of doing this........
