some RW woman - don't know who it was - said something to the effect that the NRA spent $500 mil on the 2016 election but the unions spent $1.6 billion. I found that union number hard to believe. Did they spend so much?

Some things unions care about are:
Federal and state safety regulations and employee qualifications
wages, hours and working conditions
Retirement and pension security
Health care
Now, even if they don't do such a bangup job on these, a more relevant question may be why the NRA spends fully a third of that on simply shilling for more guns

If their goal is to make us and our allies look bad, divide what they claim about us by 20 to get to an accurate number.
