JUST IN: FedEx issues statement on its relationship with the NRA: "FedEx is a common carrier under Federal law and therefore does not and will not deny service or discriminate against any legal entity regardless of their policy positions or political views."
Who said anything about discriminating or denying service? The CEO of Fed Ex is a right wing asshole.

(37,748 posts)It's a pivot from the actual premise, and addresses a concern no one has argued. It's a logical fallacy made simply to wrap defecation in a shiny box.
I can see why you think it's fair.

(131,209 posts)They're just being asked not to give NRA members a discount, which isn't a denial of service. NRA members just wouldn't be getting special rates and would have to pay the same as everybody else.

(24,052 posts)on Mr. Smith... a Republican for sure (but not hardcore) but I would guess the decision is based purely on money and because of their business model, they will not be affected adversely

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
