The Xmas after Sandy Hook we spent the day at Fleet Farm and Walmart protesting quietly the sales of the machine guns. Nothing happened. All these years later, I am pleased the young kids have stopped Dick's Sptg. Goods...BRAVO....

(102,496 posts)I think you meant semi-automatic or assault rifles, since machine guns haven't been sold since the era of Al Capone.

I don't see how you thought she was actually talking about semi-automatics because semi-autos are NOT banned and they have been used numerous times in mass shooting in recent years.
I thought you were responding to the OP. My bad and we agree.

(102,496 posts)Banned for private citizens for guns produced after 1986.
Your subject line is highly misleading.

(36,384 posts)The poster said they were banned. I said they were legal and I (for sure) could buy one or more and I am assuming the poster I responded to could purchase one too. Assuming he isn't in a state where they are banned.
Don't you think this comment is highly misleading?:
"Is proof banning works."
Do you think it'd be more accurate to say "highly regulated"?

(102,496 posts)NOR can ANYONE purchase one. Highly restrictive.

Where is "newly produced" in that statement? I don't see it.
