So Hope Hicks appears to have kept a diary. Publishers are after her to write a book. Wonder if anyone with half a minutes worth of government experience has told her that her diy kept at work is government property.

(36,927 posts)This is true regardless of party affiliation. When you leave you just hand it over to your publisher and they churn out a revenue generating book for you. Nixon was lazy and kept tapes instead, which turned out to be his downfall.

(19,800 posts)that contain incriminating details as they know all written docs are not private but are government property. Or perhaps, like Reince they intentionally keep them as a record to try and prove they were not part the illegal/unethical behavior.

(36,927 posts)Official correspondence is, but not things that are purely personal in nature. Even Nixon's tapes weren't considered government property even though he used government assets to obtain them. They had to be subpoenaed by a judge.

(42,674 posts)If true, Ms. Hicks, who for all her abominable taste in men, from boyfriends to father figures, is quite a bit smarter than I gave her credit for. Shes still an asshole of course.
