JARED KUSHNER BACKED QATAR BLOCKADE A MONTH AFTER QATARIS WOULDNT FINANCE HIS PROPERTY

Jared Kushner's family-run real estate company tried to seek Qatari government financing for its troubled New York City property a month before Kushner backed a blockade on the Gulf kingdom, The Intercept reported on Friday.

Kushner Cos. directly solicited investment from Qatari Finance Minister Ali Sherif al-Emadi for its 666 Fifth Avenue luxury tower in April 2017, two sources in the finance industry told The Intercept. No deal came of it.

Kushner Cos. spokeswoman Chris Taylor denied such brokering attempts occurred. “To be clear, we did not meet with anyone from the Qatari government to solicit sovereign funds for any of our projects,” Taylor told Newsweek in an email. “To suggest otherwise is inaccurate and false.”

The following month, Kushner and the White House supported a blockade of Qatar organized by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. Due to the crisis, alliances in the region have shifted, with Qatar—which holds the largest U.S. military base in the Middle East—aligning more closely with Iran and Turkey.

“We know his family is looking for various sources of foreign money to inject into a cash-starved property. We also know Jared Kushner is running a lot of foreign policy,” he noted. ”Ask the Qataris for money and two weeks later Qatar says no and then the full force of the U.S. government is slammed down on Qatar.”

“How involved was Kushner in that?” Hayes asked Ryan Grim, the DC bureau chief for The Intercept.

“He was extremely involved in the policy,” Grim replied. “Without Kushner, we might not have the blockade. And just so people know, this blockade is ongoing.”

“This cold war, very nearly became a hot war,” Grim added.
“There are reports that the Emirates considered invading with a mercenary force, Qatar, as this all unfolded.”

That word struck me, so I looked at the Wiki article on Ali Sherif al-Emadi.

As it happens, along with being Qatari Finance Minister, he is the chairman of Qatar National Bank, a commercial banking group where the ownership is evenly split between the government/emirate of Qatar (i.e. the 'sovereign' state) and public investors. The group also has significant holdings in several major banks in the Middle East and Asia. It's the largest financial institutional in the M.E.

Given the above, one could say that a loan coming from them is not, strictly speaking, from the sovereign state.

“To be clear, we did not meet with anyone from the Qatari government to solicit sovereign funds for any of our projects,”....

“We did not”: our agent did.

“Did not meet”: it happened on the phone or by email.

“From the Qatari government”: it was through an intermediary.

“To solicit”: we met for some other reason. We happened to solicit sovereign funds while we were there, we just didn’t meet for that purpose.

“Sovereign funds”: as you point out, the funds may not have actually been sovereign.

“For any of our projects”: we needed the money for some other purpose. Such as to pay off the Russian banks that lent money for our projects.

Then finally there’s the big tell, saying that to suggest otherwise would be “inaccurate”. Who would say that if the story was flat out false? That means to suggest otherwise would be very close to the truth, just not quite technically correct. That’s telling us we need to narrowly parse their words.

When I was part of source selection committee that was choosing the winner of a contract, I had to divest from a fund that held shares of a company tha was competing.

The rules clearly state that you cannot have the APPEARANCE of a conflict of interest.

This shit makes me sick.

I think 10 years from now, what the Trump years will most be remembered for is the corruption. They are stealing $Billions and running a global racket with the US military as their muscle. They will clean the US treasury out if given the time. And I mean it, they will find a way to take every single penny the US has if they have the time to. This is what crooks do, they are like Tony Soprano, when they get their hooks into someone's business, they don't stop until they've bled every last penny out of it. This is happening right now at a level the world has never seen. And this group is creative, they will think of ways to steal that normal people never would have dreamed of.

How much do they want? They want it all. The Social Security trust fund, they want every last cent. Every single government contract in this country they want to go to their pals. Every dollar in any federal pension, they want that. 10 years from now, we'll be wondering what the hell happened and accountants and lawyers will be trying to figure out where all the money went for decades.

He essentially punished a foreign country for denying him a personal favor. He's an evil creature, not caring how his actions affect the people of the world. Kushner is from hell. Hope he returns there soon. Warmonger has a whole new meaning. Fucking greedy bastard.
