Many Americans are a self-congratulatory bunch. We are insular in our belief that innovation, morality, and righteousness is solely our purview. Interestingly, most people around the world including Canadians when allowed to speak candidly have a completely different interpretation on us than most do of ourselves.

I agree with a lot of those sentiments.

3. Canadians are generally warmer to those from the border states.

We interact with them much more and there are more similarities.

Last time I was in Canada, I joked that I may declare political asylum. It immediately broke the ice and a couple of them said you are more than welcome to come over.

I love shattering their notions that all Americans are jerks. Been told by them I am more Canadian than American.

the very brightest, the most creative and the very best people are Americans too. And we celebrate them. We just wish they had power right now. We are holding our breath until you lead the world again.
