We are not debating the 2nd Amendment. We are debating addiction.

The gun addicts and their dealers use the 2nd Amendment as a cover, a weapon. The gun dealers like drug dealers want to sell their product. They believe they should be able to sell whatever weapon they want to. The gun addicts believe they should be able own any type of weapon they choose. They have gone to far.

I am pro gun, what that means to me is, a guy has the right to own a deer rifle so he can go hunting during deer season. Its about having the right to own a shotgun to protect your land, home and to hunt small game. Its about the right of a father to be able to buy his son a 22 rifle on his 13th birthday.

I believe it is self evident that we are losing our freedom when it comes to the gun problem. If we have to arm everyone, turn our schools into fortresses, we are no longer free. We are free when we don't have to arm ourselves.

We banned the automatic function on weapons long ago. I believe its time to ban the semi-automatic function on all weapons. Every bullet must be manually loaded. Bolt action ,lever action ,etc. Limit the size of magazines. Its time to get tough with the addicts and dealers. Their addiction is killing us.

Banning the semi-automatic function does not affect the 2nd Amendment.

Any idiot can shoot one. It's like a hose spray with bullets.

A rifle, single-shot, requires aim, a good eye, and patience as well as training. That would frustrate a lot of potential purchasers.

By contrast, automatic weapons are bad-ass. They're in the military; they're in the movies; your friends have them.

And how many "safety classes" are there for automatic weapons? It's an oxymoron.

They're not normal gun owners -- not at all like the people who founded the NRA as a safety/sport organization.

hunting w/ my dad the first time, w/ my collector's version of a 22 cal. Winchester rifle. I loved that rifle and it had a silver dollar embedded into the wood stock. My dad had brought two of these rifles, one for him, and one for me.

The first time we went hunting, I spotted the deer first and pointed it out to my dad, who got the deer! What an experience to have w/ your dad. Amazing. We cut up the deer and gave to our neighbors (they lived in a school bus behind my property then), who loved it.

Now don't get me wrong, we had a serious deer infestation down there at Bennett Springs MO. So many deer around that it was causing lots of accidents w/ cars and eating everything in sight (and were very stunted in size too).

We don't allow hunting of any kind anymore down there on our land, my dad was pretty pissed off at some of the people he allowed to hunt on his property, who abused the invitation and left a mess too.

These are you so called hunters. Ungrateful.

Now I know not all hunters are like this, but, it took only a couple of times, and my dad, who was a avowed hunter got tired of allowing hunters onto his (and my) land to hunt. I was amazed when I heard this. My dad, one of the world's most avid hunters, now an avowed anti-hunter. As a matter of fact, all of the neighbors behind this Missouri state park got together and NONE of us allowed any hunting, because of the problems we constantly had w/ hunters (maybe 25 of us in total).

How nice. So called hunters who call themselves respectable, who left a mess as well as other crap that he (my dad and neighbors) had to clean up afterward.

At other times, I was even a little nervous too, when running off these guys from my land (mine!) who came onto the land without permission, firing their guns and hunting, and I came upon them when I went checking out the gun shots. You can imagine how I felt standing there telling them that they were trespassing while they were waving their handguns around (and of course I wasn't armed, why should I be on my own land?).

I never allowed hunting on my land since we had too many people around, w/ a mobile home park a couple of hundred yards away. I didn't want anyone to get hurt (w/ all of the trees it was unlikely but you never know). And it was a possibility too, since we had discovered bullet holes in some of the mobile homes we rented.
