The hypocrisy oozes and they don't even recognize it. I have nothing but contempt for their lack of humility.

(42,305 posts)It's not hypocrisy over gun violence, so much as it's a lack of awareness. This young woman makes very good points about the gun violence that is prevalent in the black community. Why do white people only care when white children are killed?

As someone who grew up in Chicago, I knew as a child that no one cared about the brown people losing their lives to gun violence on the West and South Sides. But let a shooting in Lincoln Park happen and you'd see a police presence for weeks.
Many communities organized protests and marches downtown, with little fanfare or publicity. I'm happen the Parkland kids are being heard. We're all in this together and if they are successful, we'll all ultimately benefit.
