You say some correct things now and then. Especially about this administration. But you worked for a war criminal and you are still a Republican.

(36,926 posts)Because, Al Franken was forced out of office without due process. So now we have a vulnerable Senate seat up for grabs.

(5,210 posts)If the world must have Republicans, he's a good one. And that's saying a lot. His integrity, and his disgust for the lack thereof, are refreshing and invigorating.
But we need a Dem Senate, and losing Franken's seat wouldn't help us get there.
As an aside, he was properly outraged over Franken losing his seat, esp. the way he did -- another of Painter's endearing qualities.

(5,210 posts)and I suspect you would too.
While I'd much rather Franken's successor run unopposed, I rather like the idea that IF we have to have an opponent, it's someone that at least has integrity and a spine, willing to stand up to Trump.

(28,211 posts)Well said. Being a Repug on the outside is altogether different than being a Repug in office who is expected to "join the team" and march in lockstep--or else!
That's a big problem.
