Seriously though, any thoughts on what is the real reason for
meeting, and who's controlling it?

to the table, something it's been pushing for for more than 20 years. It's already gotten what it wanted and had to give up nothing. It's in a strong position and the U.S. now has to negotiate with what not so long ago was part of the so called "axis of evil." If talks fail, it's the end of diplomacy and the only option is a military option. Otherwise we keep kicking the can down the road the way we have been for years.
