I read awhile ago that some woman wrote a complaint letter to the New York Times. She disagreed with something they’d published and knew what the paper got wrong, and she provided proof. She cc’d her letter to the newspaper known as the NYTimes’ biggest rival - the Washington Post. Basically, in effect, dragged the offenders out into the public square in front of their competitors. The results were that a humiliated and chastened NYTimes printed a correction straight away.

Hitler used the protests at the rally as an excuse to arrest people and increase the oppression and violence against any movement that opposed him.

Trump is following Hitler with his military parade. In my opinion, the military parade planned for later this year by Trump is not about the military. It is about bringing out opposition to the parade and using that event as an excuse to oppress opposition to him.

That's my rather (admittedly dark and maybe even paranoid) thought about that military parade. But Trump is not organizing that parade for no reason and not organizing it just for his own glory. I think he figures it will draw a lot of opposition and then he can use it as an excuse to arrest the opposition.

In other words, the events of last years with the NAZI march was just a trial balloon.

Instead of opposing his parade, we should organize voter registration drives and go door to door to hand out information about Democratic candidates on Veteran's Day when he plans the parade. We should boycott the parade.
