Why do republicans love money and guns more than people?

(3,011 posts)If your child receives any consequence other than unexcused absences for the classes missed, get an attorney. Make the school officials go to their school board and add new rules against leaving school for this purpose.
You can vote out the school board if they do.
Short of that, they can't be permitted to treat your child's absence any differently than if they had car trouble and missed class. The absence is just "unexcused".

(3,011 posts)The question is will they still talk tough in the face of a lawsuit. I doubt they want litigation.

(4,461 posts)... for these protests? It boggles my mind. Do they not want kids involved in public policy discourse? I understand that a republican dominated board might have political resistance to the idea - I get that, but are they really going to publicly take the position that these kids should stfu? Unbelievable.

(32,824 posts)Is horrendous. Full of bullies. They protect bullies here. This is a high school that saw 2 threats of violence, 1 with a gun in a span of 3 days two weeks ago. The kids were arrested but the dump culture is alive and well.
The courage its taking for the kids who are walking is astronomical.

(11,648 posts)In a way, I'm okay with this. A protest with no risk or consequences is not as strong a statement. It can't be dismissed as a bunch of students having a good time.
