@nycsouthpaw With UK authorities taking another look at suspicious Russian-linked deaths on their soil in the wake of Salisbury, its worthwhile revisiting the strange deaths of Sergei Krivov and Mikhail Lesin in the US as well.
Sergei Krivov was found dead at the Russian consulate in NYC on Election Day 2016. First reports said he fell from the roof. Consulate officials said he had a heart attack in the security office. NYPD noted he had head trauma. https://www.buzzfeed.com/alimwatkins/the-strange-case-of-the-russian-diplomat-who-got-his-head-sm?utm_term=.dlng85A9oW#.rleeDGk3P9
- When Krivovs body arrived at the Medical Examiners office, the story changed again. The ME contradicted the NYPD, saying it found no head wound, and attributed his death to a tumor. FBI participated in the investigation, but denied its involvement. https://www.buzzfeed.com/alimwatkins/medical-examiner-contradicts-nypd-dead-russian-diplomat-had?utm_term=.xnl4yjMZXB#.xvyr2pYMJG
Mikhail Lesin died in his DC hotel while in town to cooperate with a federal investigation. Police declared it an accident, saying he fell repeatedly following a bender, contradicting forensics. FBI sources say he was murderedbrutally beaten to death.

(29,223 posts)1. a *lot* of places
and many of them in the foreign service of Russia. People that either might have been the source of the Steele memos or who might be involved with the Trump organization and / or money laundering.
Or, in the case of the nerve agent poisoning... a father and daughter target which could well be a signal to one Paul Manafort to keep his trap shut and spend the rest of his life in prison or his daughters could be killed.

(14,971 posts)2. Yep. The NYT had an article on the Russian nerve agent that was used in Skripal's
attack and it said if the victim is found dead it looks like a heart attack.
