Republican party was annihilated
The Republican party started its death throes during Nixon's term. Reaganites killed a lot more of it, as the destructors of government ascended to power. Daddy Bush tried to resurrect it, but the Shrubites finished it off.
What we have now is the Government Of Putin. Its purpose is to destroy centralized government, leaving power and control to international oligarchs.
