Fascinating interview of PA18 folks, two of whom voted for Trump but this time voted for the Dem.

Four people in the interview. All voted for Trump. One registered R voted for Lamb and also worked on his campaign. Another, a Dem named Steve, voted for Trump and now can't stand him so switched and voted for Lamb.

And I say GOOD FOR THEM!!

How can this not be a GOOD thing? And we need more of it. We need folks coming to their senses, realizing they made a mistake, and coming back to the Dem party and voting for a Dem that they like and who fits the district. This is how we will win EVERYWHERE.

Check it out.

I know 3 people who voted for Trump who now can't stand him. Yes moderates. I think we need to try to reach all we can With slim margins like in 2016 we need them all in 2018 and 2020.

use shorthand to know what they support or not. For example in a set of polls conducted by CNN a few years ago, Obamacare had 46% of people opposing it and 29% supporting it. The ACA had 37% opposed and 22% supporting it.

So if Lamb was able to reach past the Democratic brand name in a district where that is a bad thing, that's good. It can help provide an in-road potentially for other candidates to other offices. We need to get more seats at all level of government.

18. Wow. They liked the issues he ran on
Mon Mar 19, 2018, 07:12 AM
Mar 2018

Well Hillary ran under those same issues, as they are a part of the Democratic platform. Trump ran on build a wall and deport them all. Everything else he said he would do sounds good in theory, but are disastrous in the real world. His plan to accomplish this was "trust me"

Given trump's actual history, there was nothing there to show he would be a president for the every day American. Stiffing contractors, using his charity to pay lawsuits, bankruptcies, university used as a pyramid scheme, sued for civil rights violations etc. This was all known and more. hell they even excused sexual assault.

While Clinton had a history of working for the every day American. Health insurance, woman's rights are human rights, she and her husband were the 1st POTUS & FLOTUS to acknowledge AIDS and fund research. Healthcare for children. Desegregation. Keeping juveniles from being housed in prisons with adult men. The Clinton Family foundation. Fought to get insurance coverage for 9/11 rescuers and workers. On and on there are examples of the work she has done to help people.

But these fuckers chose to believe lies because she is a woman and trump has a dick. They had no problem with Lamb. If Harris runs in 2020 they will vote for trump again. because a woman just can't be trusted. Misogyny runs deep with some people.

Look at the coal miners. They voted for a man that promised to take away their healthcare because he said he would bring back their jobs. Well their healthcare is as good as gone and their jobs? where the beef? Hillary was right, those jobs aren't coming back. But she had a detailed plan to invest to retrain them for the jobs of the future....solar, fuel cell, and more. Jobs that wouldn't give them black lung. They chose to believe the male, known liar over a woman who has a solid record of helping people just like them.

So.... excuse me while I kiss the sky.

They didn't do it because someone convinced them to. If you talk to 100 Trump supporters, and 2 of them change how they will vote, you have to ask yourself whether you are the one who convinced them. Probably not.

On the other hand, if you talk to 100 Democrats who didn't vote in the 2014 mid-term elections for one reason or another, and then convince 25 of them to go and vote for Democrats in the 2018 mid-term elections, you will have achieved something worthwhile.

But you thought that I was deplorable for saying that, and shameful, too, for not obeying you, and that the trump voters were really, really nice folks that we need to be extra special nice to.

Anyway, I took your advice and ran out to the diner and asked around if anyone was a deer hunting trump voter. I figured I would have a nice conversation with them, just like you did, not mention politics, and then congratulate myself on the basis of no evidence that I had converted said deer hunting trump voter to voting Democratic.

Everyone in the diner just looked at me as if I were crazy, though.
