Olympic Opening Ceremony 2012: The 17 Worst Outfits of the Night

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1275750-olympic-opening-ceremony-2012-the-17-worst-outfits-of-the-night

cheecky article & slideshow..

Poor UK.. They went with Elvis

It was ironic that David Bowie's "Heroes" was playing as Team GB entered the Olympic Stadium wearing its gold-shouldered unis, because these awful uniforms made these wonderful athletes look something like Ziggy Stardust.

The women in front, on the other hand, looked like they’re going to a prom. In 1974.

Either that or they're the worst bridesmaid dresses ever.

I know some Samoans-good people and they do wear more of the traditional things whenever able. I love their clothes-fun, lots of prints, and great colors.

Aruba-love the bright blue color. It's fun, compared to some of the drabness of other countries.
Bahrain-the colors were gorgeous!
Belarus-simple with a splash of color. I don't know what's wrong with the outfit.
Bulgaria-I wish seersucker would make a comeback! I'd wear it.
Czech Republic-they seem to be having fun. I like it-who cares what they're wearing.
Dominican Republic-didn't seem that abnormal to me. I know people here in Missouri who would consider that to be a "dressy" look.
Estonia-their pride is written across their chest. While not my cup of tea, it's not awful.
Germany-I make a comment about liking their outfits last night. Fun.
Guyana-another simple style, with a splash of color.
Kyrgyzstan-not the worst I've ever seen-not by any means.
Marshall Islands-loved the look!
Poland-what was wrong? It's not bad. I know women who'd wear that entire outfit to church on Sunday morning without a pause.
Spain-bright, fun colors.
Sweden-those shirts can be found on any college campus during the fall. It makes the athletes look exactly like what they are-young adults. What's wrong with that?
Ukraine-I'm a sucker for pattern. Yes, it's a bit overdone in some spots but just a bit would be really fun.
Great Britain-take the gold out from under the arms (they look a bit like the perspiration pads women would wear with dresses). Otherwise, it fit with the song as they walked in. It should-this was their Olympics and dammit they were playing Bowie! If you're intro is to anything Bowie you should be flamboyant!

Errr, the 'women' in front are children volunteers - they were the escorts for the teams and all were included with the British Team's parade.

The woman holding the country nameplate has a dress with pictures of other volunteers on it.

Ignorant beacherreport, terribly ignorant.

Not that I take fashion advice from a writer who doesn't know what a bowler hat looks like (hint: it has a rounded top, not like the ones the Belarus delegation are wearing).

The German uniforms were weird - what were they thinking when they chose those colors? And my first thought when I saw the Polish women was that someone bled all over their nice white dresses.
