etc. There is a great network of shelters and people trying to pull pets from death row. I can go on and on...so there can be some good in it. As we see too...there is some bad.

One thing is for sure I blocked everybody at work. Have never used my full name and have very little personal info on it. I prefer to be anonymous on FB and NOT "know" people really.

It has been a great organizing tool form me, first to find more Dems in a purple town and later in building support for the community radio station we were putting together. But NOT a place to do anything private. I still use it for sharing photos of family and friends. But I now go days on end without going there where once I was there multiple times per day.

I like the connective power of social media over what I could previously do by email alone.

But that's me.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?

This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
