Those are big complicated machines and this one was just off the line being tested

I think things transpired just as they should have. The plane was being tested and some defect must have caused the incident. That's why they test them like this. To ferret out any defects on the ground before they release them to be put into the air.

Thank goodness they get to find out what happened this way rather than trying to reassemble the plane after a crash and loss of life.
