(6,232 posts)Our nerd gov (Snyder) has said that the election to replace former rep John Conyers will be next November. Conyers resigned in December 2017. So for almost a year, the district (majority black) will not have a rep. The Fed Court judge ruled in Snyder's favor saying he has the right to call the election whenever he wants to. Why is Michigan different than Wisconson?

(2,475 posts)...Walker was informed that his blatant attempt to avoid Republican special election losses just looked too corrupt even for them; so rather than suffer yet another humiliating judicial rejection, Scottie just dropped his appeal.

The logic is impeccable. Even the Walker packed Appeals Court would have given pause to blocking elections.

(1,294 posts)Now to get Wisconsins to vote out this conservative garbage and get rid of Paul Ryan. These two pieces of shit are right around my age. It disheartens me to see so many of my generation turn to Ayn Rand ideology and get into high elected office.

(14,593 posts)century. He's right there with Brownback in KS. These are people who have no clue how to govern, and their states show that with crumbling infrastructure, loss of jobs, loss of businesses and general declines in quality of life. The Republican (radical Ayn Randian libertarian tea party) ideology just does NOT work.
