West VA, Oklahoma, and Kentucky teacher strikes

First I want to say that I believe that teachers should get paid more than they do. They are a critical part of American kids’ lives. And I hate the fact how conservatives hate all unions, but the police and fire fighters union seem immune from criticism (we all know why).

But the fact that these strikes are happening, or in West Va case happened, in overwhelming red states makes me wonder who these teachers voted for. I don’t know this for sure, but I bet the majority voted for Republicans. Now they are reaping what they sow. These people are always voting against their self interest.

Both are idiotic Republicans. They Bitch about low pay and yet fail to realize that it was their own fault in the first place........

You shouldn't have to be all that smart to figure out it's a tactic to make the rich richer at the expense of everyone else.

To show these folks the error of their ways?

I would like to see a salary comparison of any teevee host that attacks these strikers to that of a teacher.

Say...average daily salary for Laura Ingraham, compared to average daily salary for Jane Doe teacher.

There is a reason they attack an organized community. If the folks who vote for these bozos are woke, even a little bit, they can be turned. (Republican worst nightmare, thanks, Obama)

It will require additional education.

God, guns, abortion, and "them California libruuuuul queerz destroying traditional marriage..."

That's how it works up there. They are constantly distracted by sideshow issues as the above and only pay attention when it affects them.

Slowly, (mind you very slowly) they are reluctantantly waking up, however they will never admit they voted wrong.....

I know the mindset. I just like to celebrate any progress, as there is so little progress in some of these places. I am okay with slow and steady, but I really think the media could do more to help educate these people on the real issues.

The R governor didn't campaign as a friend of education, so the writing was on the wall when he came in. There has been a lot of opposition from teachers to yesterday's legislation from the outset.
