The poll, released Thursday, found 45 percent of 600 registered Tennessee voters said they would choose Bredesen, a Democrat and former Nashville mayor, if the election were immediately held.
Blackburn, a Brentwood Republican, netted 35 percent, with another 17 percent of respondents saying they were not sure.
Three percent of respondents declined to answer.

(82,849 posts)I'm not sure how Blackburn goes about picking up any further support; she and Bredeson are both known commodities in Tennessee. But I hope this poll spurs Tennessee Democrats to redouble their efforts statewide. Democrats have had great results in Virginia, Alabama, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin so far this cycle. Let's add Tennessee to the list!

(10,437 posts)little at this point. The good thing is, almost all of tennessee knows who Blackburn is and who Bredesen is...and he needs to get his support well above the 50% line. Blackburn sitting at 35% isn't a good starting point for her to say the least

(2,640 posts)Which is the race continues to tighten until it's dead even, then the Republicans manage to show up at the last minute with a "missing" ballot box or laptop to put them over the top.
