Mueller just scored another huge win as longtime Trump ally turns snitch (Felix Sater)

McClatchy DC just reported that the Trump Organization’s former senior advisor, a Russian mafia-linked FBI informant, is now cooperating with Special Counsel Mueller’s probe.

Russian-born Felix Sater’s relationship with Trump lawyer Michael Cohen and their links to the President’s international business deals in the former Soviet Union are rapidly becoming a major focus of Mueller’s probe, including subpoenas to compel sworn testimony and produce evidence.

He is a twice-convicted felon, who spent eleven years cooperating with the FBI and spent most of that time, plus the following seven years, working for the Trump Organization formally and informally as a business associate.

Details of Sater’s decades-old cooperation agreement indicate that Mueller’s prosecutors – one of whom, Andrew Weissmann, approved his deal originally – possess an overwhelming amount of leverage to obtain his cooperation, even in today’s case. McClatchy reports:

[Felix] Sater is cooperating with Mueller’s investigation and provided more than six hours of closed-door testimony on Wednesday to the Senate Intelligence Committee, which also focused heavily on the deals involving Cohen, according to multiple people with knowledge of the hearing.

Sater previously provided similar closed-door testimony to the House Intelligence Committee in December 2017.

Felix Sater is also a childhood friend of embattled Trump lawyer Michael Cohen from Brooklyn, with whom he was involved with in both a secret Ukraine peace deal after Trump’s inauguration and in a Moscow Trump Tower deal during the election. But his history with the Trump Organization goes back to the early 1990s.

His past leads to two big questions: why did he never enter the witness protection program, and why is he still alive.This would lead some to deduct that he is some kind of double agent, or at least has been playing both side against one another.

Odd that he was quoted last year as saying that he and Drump would die in prison, then a couple of weeks ago, he was making a lot of appearance on the news shows saying there was no quid pro quo in the Moscow real estate deal he and Drump were working on during the campaign.

And it was annoying to see Flynn appear at a campaign event backing some repuglinazi candidate a couple of weeks ago, too.

If the connections are real, that is Trump and gang, are involved with Russian mafia, then Felix is in danger. It ain't a joke. I sure hope is safety has been discussed and taken care of.

Sater's a very complex, very intelligent man. My impression at the time was that he was stonewalling and seemingly protective of Trump. Factor in Nunberg and Page and their weirdo performance art on left-leaning media and there seems to be no rhyme or reason governing their public personas.

That being said, Sater knows how to play in these circles and if anyone has the goods on Trump and knows how to use them to his best advantage, it would be him. This may well bear fruit for Team Mueller.

30. Felix Sater was key in tracking down osama bin laden and considered an Asset.

He provided the CIA with his phone number which led to his location and demise. Sater has been a very important piece of the puzzle many times in the not so distant past. Some think he has total immunity for what he has provided. This is an interesting article, lengthy but well worth the read
