Fuuuuck! I am so tired of working my ass off and barely scraping by.
I literally JUST got paid yesterday, now after the car ins and phone bill, got declined at the grocery store... not to mention gas and electric still due...
This fucking WORLD, man! Been trying to find a better job for a year at least. Not an option to move for better opportunities, kids still in HS and I'm not good with transition like that anyway.
So all I can do is show up for work Monday, and do what I do.
Begged and borrowed some pasta and potatoes from a friend to help the next couple dinners along. Got pb&J and eggs still... gonna be asking my mom for help if I can. But ugh...the ONLY time I feel flush of for a few weeks after the tax return, and then it's back to scraping for life. I'm SO OVER IT!!!

Grrrrrr!!!!!!
PS Hang in there, FirstLight-- things will improve

(15,771 posts)I shop at Grocery Outlet (discount groceries) and basically have even noted that prices for everything, even at Wal-Mart, are way too high. I never shop at the mainstream stores anymore because it's nuts!
Just so tired sometimes of feeling like the fucking hamster in the cage..running on that wheel...forever.

(15,771 posts)and if I was to grow food etc for us in our yard, it would still be 6 months before I had results...
This whole "money" thing just means I get to worry about it all the time, not just once a season or whatever like my ancestors.

(16,104 posts)and generation after generation pays for it, over and over again.
Slave wages for subsistence, keeping us 'alive' to get to back to work tomorrow.
This is our lot. Our "lives of quiet desperation."
You're not alone.

(23,047 posts)I've had to resort to going to the food give-aways the local food bank does. I've worked HARD all my life, and now its come to this. Greatest country in the world...unless you are not in the 1%.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
