3. Unfortunately, evil has prevailed many times in history...

...and there is absolutely no reason why it won't again. We've been lucky, as nations go. When we've needed it, we've produced a Lincoln or FDR to get us thru supreme crises. I think everyone subconsciously assumes that it will somehow magically happen again. But it's up to us, to prepare the ground, so to speak, for another transformative figure to weather this storm. I hope we're up to it. But Hitler was defeated only at the cost of 60,000,000 lives. Stalin and Mao died in their beds. It's not inevitable that Trump goes down...
