A burning question about Comey. Will he tell the whole truth about his

influence over the 2016 election in reopening, then quickly closing the investigation over Hillarys emails?

Will he treat the topic of his role, respectfully? Truthfully?

but, the truth will always be, that it will never be enough. What can he ever say that will make this ok? One man put his finger on the scale and tipped it. Now, we have this.

I do believe that, if the final outcome of this is the jailing of the people behind the curtain, as well as the traitors in plain site, then, perhaps we can say some good came out of it.

Be in the palm of some fool’s hand?"

And Comey got PLAAAAAAAAAAYED! THREE times! 1] The first time was his long-winded announcement that he was NOT recommending charges against Candidate Clinton in the private e-mail server scandal. 2] The second time was his announcement 2 weeks before the election that the Clinton e-mail investigation was being re-opened and 3] He made the announcements in 1 and 2 while NOT announcing that Trump or members of his campaign was ALSO under investigation the whole time.

I'm not buying his book - nothing he says can explain or justify him being this stupid/gullible! Phuck Comey - he was no hero, he was a useful idiot!

Giuliani and his connections to the FBI office in NYC putting pressure on Comey. In his position as head of the FBI, I think he should have stood up to that.

I will not buy his book either. Maybe I'll go read Al Franken's book again. That was wonderful!

Don't think he had any inkling that HRC could lose. He also knew that Hillary understood the law and would let him finish his appointed term with minimal interference. There wasn't any chance that he wouldn't have been raked over the coals by the GOP Congress for not following up on his previous promise to let them know when any new info came to light re: emails.

Comey is no white knight and certainly wasn't willing to risk his spending years testifying on why he "threw" the election to HRC.

That anyone might think he had that effect on the election.

Hardly 'did that already', in fact, the comment is a DENIAL. The opposite.

Not that I believe for a minute that he was forced to do it.

is the correct one.

Comey saw that Hillary was unstoppable, so he tipped the scale to push trump over the winning line when there was no time for Hillary.s campaign to recover. Not that complicated, really.

He could have said that trump was also under investigation, you know.

Comey saw that Hillary was unstoppable, and acted preemptively to cover his/the FBI's ass when the inevitable investigations began following her victory.

It's hard to envision an alternate reality if Hillary had won, but one thing we know for sure is that the same Republican Congress which brought us the Benghazi farce would immediately have started new, relentless "oversight" investigations into her emails. Multiple investigations in the House and Senate, full court press on Fox News, the works. Comey would presumably have realized that he and the FBI would have been dead center in these investigations, with Republicans demanding to know why he never said anything about an investigation into Hillary during the campaign, and calling for his head because he "fixed" it for her to win.

I've always assumed that Comey's pre-election announcement was a political calculation made in an effort to shield the FBI from criticism after the election. He thought Hillary would win, and chose to cover his ass. Little did he know it would be one of the factors which flipped the whole thing to Trump.
