What do conservatives actually care about?

Based on the actions of their leadership the past almost 40 years, I personally think they don't care about anything but making sure that nothing changes for the better. If I'm full of it, talk me down.

They resent anybody getting help unless they judge them worthy.
However, when they need help they are always worthy of it because they are tax paying patriots.

But it's sad that we have reached the point where we pigeonhole a diverse group of people as being either good, if they believe as we do, or bad--if they don't. I know conservatives who are good people, who would give you the shirts off their backs if you needed it and by the same token I know of those on the Left who I wouldn't trust to care for a dog I liked.
But we're either angels or devils with nothing in between. Pity the independents who are not good enough to be an angel of either extreme and get invited to leave being called DINOs or RINOs.
