1) Delusions of grandeur. The guy thinks he's Director of the CIA.

2) He's actively plotting with industrial polluters. He doesn't want the details public.

Conservatives have a larger amygdala that gives them an elevated sense of threats. Liberals have a larger anterior cingulate cortex and have more empathy and are better able to cope with uncertainty.

Stop and think about it. When people in leadership know they're doing wrong, they are going to be jumpy and will build walls to keep you out of their circles so you don't catch on.

It's that way whether you're dealing with co-conspirators, or racists.
