I was in the gym this a.m. and one of the tubes had on an infomercial for something called Superbeets. The host was NRA spokesperson Dana Loesch. I was really surprised at first and then it dawned on me that she really is nothing more than an actress. Paid to be "sincere," convey a message, and sell a product.
I think they made a bad casting decision for this one though. I don't know how anyone would buy something with her name tied to it...other than a weapon I guess. And that is a niche audience. If you are trying to sell a super general product like beet juice powder, wouldn't you pick someone that is less polarizing? I would.
Just really weird I think.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
