A Syrian man has been killed execution-style in Germany as fears grow that the Damascus regime is actively hunting down its critics in Europe.
The 35-year-old man was killed after he stopped in his Volkswagen car at a set of traffic lights in Sarstedt, near Hanover, and two men opened the doors and fired inside.
The two assassins then fled the scene. The victim died from head wounds and a special murder squad has been formed at Hildesheim, where he lived.
The murder comes a week after a critic of President Bashar Assads regime was badly beaten by men wielding iron bars at his home in Berlin.

(1,948 posts)international law and thus reminding people who cheer on such practices when carried out by our government what the implications of it would be when "bad" countries claim the same rights. I mean imagine what would would happen if Syria had drones? Would you like that? I wouldn't.
Though on your point, given our own history of using the military to violently break up strikes or the history of COINTELPRO or the number of Black Panthers assassinated by our government if there was truly a protest that threatened to topple the entire government I imagine our government would use force against the protestors, even if they were peaceful. Though I suspect any state would do the same since all states maintain themselves ultimately through force. Regardless, that' kind of irrelevant to the point I was making, which I suspect you realize and were just choosing to be snarky.
