of what new moms go through, ignorant of the reality of babies, and unwilling to learn or change. And by "people" I mean "probably men because for chrissake look at what they're saying."

Duckworth has been quoted in articles saying while on leave she can't vote or sponsor legislation

Maternity leave policies need to accommodate the job description, instead of policy creators acting like it's just some kind of a vacation
