I'm really curious about Michael Cohen....why would he have put up with all the sh*t from tRUMP all these years, and why would Cohen still love tRUMP after all that?! I don't get it! What would make a person still love another person when the other person has treated them so badly?

(79,252 posts)If the "rewards" for this behavior was simply limited to the crumbs from Trump's table, it would not make sense. So let's consider what other options are likely in play.
Cohen operates out of NYC. As Trump noted (X 12) on Fox & Fiends yesterday, he has "businesses.... Big businesses." Cohen has never hid his connections to the Russian mob -- quite the opposite, he has attempted to enhance his reputation by advertising it. His mind inhabits a cinematic concept, hence his referring to himself as a fictional television character.
Although he is a weak man, the Russian mob identified him years ago as a pathway to influence Trump. Not the lone pathway, of course, but a direct one. Hence, he was paid and played by those shadowy figures to promote the concept of Trump for president.
This, of course, puts him in a very bad place today. In legal terms, he faces extreme pressure from the federal prosecutors, including the NY office and Team Mueller, as well as from the NYS Attorney General's office. This isn't due to potentially minor offenses. He also faces pressure from the Russian mob, as they now view him as a dangerously weak link. And he may even feel some sense of loyalty to Trump, and is hoping for a pardon.
I hope this explains why he has behaved as he has.

(79,252 posts)I had considered explaining some of the current dynamics in greater detail in an OP. Especially after Trump's Fox & Fiends phone call, it is good to know why each individual or group is taking the positions and tactics that are currently on display.

Surely it would be helpful to all of us to understand the motivations as the wheels continue to come off this administration.
