Jill Stein refuses to condemn Russian election interference in babbling CNN interviewTom Boggioni 01 MAY 2018 AT 09:23 ET
Appearing on CNNs New Day, former Green Party candidate Jill Stein refused to condemn Russian meddling in the 2016 election, while telling host Chris Cuomo that she is refusing to turn over some campaign communications to Senate investigators because she is protecting Americans civil liberties.
According to reports, Steins campaign has provided some documents related to communications with officials tied to Russian media organizations and the Kremlin, as well as information related to her 2015 trip to Moscow to attend a dinner where she sat a table with President Vladimir Putin and former Trump administration aide Michael Flynn
Beginning the interview, host Cuomo pointed out to the 2-time presidential candidate that she is giving the appearance of hiding something by not fully cooperating.
If you dont fully comply that means youre hiding something, Cuomo suggested. If youre hiding something, that makes people suspicious that maybe you had something to do with the Russian interference?

(70,504 posts)I wonder just how big and how wide this Trump/Russia rigging our elections goes.
Maybe Jill can get Jared, Paul Manafort, Trump Jr. and Don Sr. apartments in the same building.

I don't play pew-pew-lets-shoot-one-another with the kiddies in multi-player though I do like some Co-Op games like the Borderlands series ... like to play those w/friends against computer enemies ...

(82,849 posts)I have an affinity for many of the positions the Green Party takes, from environmental concerns to labor rights. I'm also cognizant of the generally flat nature of authority in the Green Party. There aren't party pooh-bahs dictating policies or positions, and the party's stance on any particular issue coalesces from a long process with a lot of input from a lot of different people. This takes a long time, but has the salutary effect of creating a finished product that everyone can sign onto, or that they have no serious reservations about.
That being said, your party really, REALLY needs to gain control of the people who claim to be Green Party members, and who runs on your ballot line. I know it's against your party's practice to get all authoritarian, but people like Jill Stein really damage your credibility. It also hurts you when Republicans weasel their way onto your ballot line in an effort to sabotage your program and your message. Given your party structure, I don't rightly know how you can go about it, but you're really damaging progressive interests in the arena of public opinion by failing to protect your party from charlatans and meddlers.

(90,677 posts)At this point, not just no, but hell no.
It was the usual Stein Whatanoutism and refusal to recognize her own place in Russian efforts. She is a useful idiot, as are her supporters. At this point, it's willfull.

It's quite an interesting interview.

(16,953 posts)but the post you responded to above still has it right. She is a liar and a fraud.
So did YOU listen to the interview?? This is a site for Democrats. Jill Stein lies about Democrats and she is withholding information relative to her policy discussions with Russia. Who cares that she turned over the time of her flights and when she had to show up in studio. That's not what the FBI is after. They are after her policy platform changes that were responsive to Russia. She doesn't get to use a foreign power to conduct traitorous actions against a United States candidate for President and then hide behind "civil liberties."
People are not buying these lies anymore. The FBI obviously knows she is lying. Please quit promoting lies by a third party candidate who cost Democrats the election.
It is NOT "quite an interesting interview." It is the typical claptrap from her and disingenuous blame game. Jill Stein is a liar and a fraud. This is a site for Democrats.

(16,953 posts)Always sticking up for Jill Stein by way of totally misrepresenting the facts and what we can see with our own eyes. They certainly aren't fooling us. We've seen it all by now, as has the FBI, to be sure.
LOCK HER UP, that's what Jill Stein is worried about, and she should be. Traitor. Liar. Fraud.
Good to see you, Cha!

(68,565 posts)She sat a the table with Flynn and Putin...that doesn't happen if you are not a player...bye bye jillie I am sure you will look divine in you orange jumpsuit. I would watch the interview but I don't want to throw up...always my reaction when I see that smug face...she helped elect Trump. Obviously, since she won't turn over the documents, she is hiding something...

(31,261 posts)Next time a cop catch me speeding, I will tell him or her that I don't think speed limits are relevant.
Sophia4
(3,515 posts)Speed limits are relevant.
When it comes to discovery in a law case, when it comes to document production, there is often disagreement about what is relevant and what must be produced. Documents can be excluded from production for many reasons.
The Fourth Amendment limits the right of government to search and seize. I have no idea what Jill Stein has in her possession, what she has and has not produced. I have no idea what she did or did not do.
But the police officer times you and keeps a record of your speed. It is not the speed limit that is in question but whether the police officer's evidence regarding your speed at the time you were stopped that is in question. Usually, the police officer's evidence on your speed is enough to require that you pay your ticket.
The government may or may not have the right to obtain the records that Jill Stein does not want to produce. The judge decides that.

(16,953 posts)for Jill Stein, just like there were concern trolls for Trump's lawyers and others. Comparing treason and collusion with a foreign power which affected our election with a speeding ticket is a really glaring attempt to trivialize her role(s) in undermining our election. Nice try, but no Bueno. This is the kind of stuff JPR comes up with.
