Spy Magazine conducted an experiment...Trump responded

Spy Magazine sent several wealthy people 0.13 checks to see who would cash them. Of the checks sent, Trump was one of those that cashed them...there is no way, he constantly stiffs people, but make sure that he cashes a 0.13 check...There is no way he didn't know about the Stormy Daniels payments..

...have to believe that any business that deals with lots of checks, like a real estate business, has someone whose job it is to process the checks. They get a "for deposit only" stamp and go in the envelope. The person stamping the check likely doesn't have the authority to say "cash this one, not that one". In my business, I'm sure we've cashed 0.13cent checks. Nothing to do with the amount, just because cashing checks is one of the operations of the business.

When we refi-ed our house, we got a check at home about 3 months later from the title company for about 20 cents. Letter said we overpaid. 6 months later they sent a follow up letter saying we hadn't cashed the check so they were voiding it and sending a replacement. Asked us to please cash the replacement because their books had to balance.

Lots of reasons that a 13 cent check gets cashed and few of them are because he's a cheap, tightwad, likely broke narcissistic asshat. There is so much other evidence of that this falls into the "meh" category.

IMHO.

I got one share of Disney stock as a gift one year...mainly so they could put the certificate in a frame. Once a year I get like 22 cents in dividends. It is barely worth the time for me to fill out a deposit slip for ONE item, and gas to drive to the bank to deposit it. So it sits sometimes for months, sometimes never, waiting to be included with other manual check deposits that rarely happen now that everything is electronic.

A business that is regularly receiving checks would probably, like you said, stamp it and throw it on the pile.

Just recently though, my bank started doing the thing where you can manually cancel the check yourself and snap images of the front and back of a check for deposit. It's like magic and hassle-free.

I know what you mean about the div checks. I've got 5 shares of stock from my company from when I started in the early 80's. There was a brief period where the CEO hand signed the certificates for new employees when they got their first shares issued in the stock purchase program. Still have the certificate...more for the signature vs. the actual value of the stock. I think I get 2.25 or something every quarter.

Pulled out a book I needed for reference and found I had used one of the checks as a bookmark...back in 91. Guess I won't be cashing that one. lol
