http://www.kwch.com/content/news/Federal-fraud-charges-filed-against-Sedgwick-County-Commissioner-ODonnell-481758161.htmlSedgwick County has released the following statement regarding the federal charges - including wire fraud, bank fraud and money laundering - filed against Commissioner Michael O'Donnell:
We have learned about the U.S. District Court action today and only know what the U.S. District Court has shared publicly, said Commission Chairman David Dennis. As elected officials, we will continue to monitor and consult with the proper authorities about any implications to Sedgwick County while also recognizing due process is important for any citizen. Sedgwick County will support anything the U.S. Attorneys Office needs or requires during their process.

(82,849 posts)But according to the story, he's 33. I wonder if he and his supporters will try to draw parallels between the obvious persecution of Mr. O'Donnell and the passion of the Christ? It's just the sort of nauseating and sanctimonious drivel we've all come to expect from these charlatans. Why do you keep electing these people to office, Kansas? Please do what you can to secure a clue in the very near future.

(31,997 posts)he was on school board, then city commission then State Senator then instead of running for re-election he chose to run for county commission and unseated a fine man. After that he cried about someone stealing his yard signs so used campaign dollars to put a cam on them.
Sources say his next goal was Mayor of Wichita and then on to Gov
He has been slimy and not likable so we the sane ones could never understand how he got votes.
When he was State Senator, there was some story about Kegs and O'Donnell and school boys

(31,997 posts)The indictment alleges ODonnell provided false information in five reports he emailed to the state ethics commission in 2016 and 2017. At issue are a series of transactions that the indictment alleges ODonnell falsely represented as payments made for campaign-related expenses. They include:
- A $1,000 check ODonnell wrote from his Michael for Kansas campaign account to a person identified as C.R. The indictment alleges that after C.R. cashed the check, ODonnell deposited the $1,000 into his personal checking account.
- A $1,000 check ODonnell wrote from his Michael for Kansas campaign account to a person identified as J.D. After receiving the check, J.D. allegedly wrote a $1,000 personal check to ODonnell and ODonnell deposited the $1,000 check into his personal account.
- A total of 12 checks from the Michael for Kansas campaign account ODonnell wrote to a friend identified as D.J., totaling $5,650.
- Three checks ODonnell wrote from his Michael for Sedgwick County account to D.J. totaling $750.

I would bet that sometime in their political careers, they're probably just as dirty. Repugs simply have no morals but love to show their hypocrisy often - both in church and in the news.

Michael O'Donnell (born August 6, 1985) is a Republican member of the Sedgwick County Kansas Commission, representing District 2 since 2017. O'Donnell defeated four term Democratic incumbent, Tim Norton on November 8, 2016.
Previously, O'Donnell served in the Kansas Senate, representing the 25th District from 2013 until 2017. O'Donnell defeated three term incumbent Jean Kurtis Schodorf to win the Senate seat. Previously he was a member of the Wichita City Council.[1]
On 11/03/2016 Michael O'Donnell was rated 93% by American Conservative Union (Positions (State Legislatures)).[2]
On February 14, 2017, it was reported that O'Donnell's cell phone had been wiretapped by the FBI in 2015.[3] On the same day, Wichita businessman Brandon Steven confirmed that he was the subject of a federal investigation related to his involvement in high-stakes poker and the proposed development of Castle Rock Casino.[4] It is unclear whether the two incidents are related.
On May 4, 2018, while serving as Sedgwick County Commissioner, O'Donnell was indicted on federal charges including five counts of wire fraud, five counts of bank fraud and two counts of money laundering. The charges relate to his successful campaign for the Kansas Senate seat.[5]
